The urological screening
Urological health care is important for us all – because regular examinations allow diseases of the female and male urinary tract and the male genital organs to be detected and treated early. For men, the screening should start as early as adolescence to allow potential changes to be checked by a specialist. For men from the age of 40, a regular urological screening is recommended to allow early detection of the most common cancers. Because the earlier a disease is detected and treated, the higher the chances of a complete recovery.
How is the urological screening carried out?
During the urological screening, an ultrasound examination of the entire urinary tract and genitalia is carried out along with a special examination of the blood and urine. This allows early detection of both benign and malignant diseases. The scope and type of examination depends on the patient’s age and risk factors.
